Default Website Review And Touchup Help - 03-01-2004 , 11:45 AM

I Need Help With 2 Things And A Review...Here Is The Site In Rough Stage...

www.geocities.com/mokshaiscoming/index.html

On The "Index.html" Page. Click The Blue Link...Thats How I Want It To Open
When You Click The Moksha Logo Button. Second When The Menu Opens Is There
Any Way Of Getting Rid Of The Top Menu Where It Says "Moksha - Microsoft
Internet Explorer" Along With The Minimize And Close Buttons.

1.) Code For Opening "Main.html" From The Moksha Button Into Center Of Page

2.) Getting Rid Of The "Moksha - Microsoft Internet Explorer" Along With The
Minimize And Close Buttons.

Help Would Be Much Apreciated

Interesting. A useless splash/entry page with a hidden link leading to a
popup window where all the text is in images and everything else seems
to use that silly source code encryption in a vain attempt to hide
everything. Oh well .... I doubt anyone will ever see the page.

No. For security reasons, those cannot be removed.

Then some suggestions for whatever value free advice is worth-

Get rid of the first page. Rename main.html as the index page.
A 100k splash page image with a tiny not obvious link to "enter" the site
isn't helping. Why "enter" the site? Somebody viewing that page is already
'at' the site, give them the content before they get bored and leave.

ditch the popup window. Let people view the site in their browser window, at
whatever size they like it to be.

Quit making the total of the pages in Fireworks, with the text as images.
It's okay to design a layout in fireworks- but draw slices and set them to
be "HTML SLICE" so you can type the text as html text using Dreamweaver. Or
fireworks.

Some reasons for the changes-
Search engines don't follow JavaScript. They will never spyder the site past
the first page. They also don't "read" images. There is not one word of
TEXT content in those pages for them to 'read'

Text as images takes forever to load. People won't wait.
Also, if the hosting stays at geocities- you will run out of daily free
transfer if and when the site gets some traffic.

And a general overall impression- after letting a half-dozen pages load.
I have no idea where the band is, what style of music it is, all i know is
that it's composed in a very unreadable Pravda style block typeface. Is it
eastern block music?
