Default website is down - 04-02-2009 , 10:52 AM

Hi,

For reasons unknown we cannot access our own website (investix.co.uk) that we
update in house. Every time we try to access the site we receive a "sorry but
address not found" message. We can access all other web sites. If you check out
our website you'll see that you can access it. The people who utilize laptops
at work can access our site when not using the internet connection. So it's not
our computers or browsers. According to all the tech people we've talked to,
our ISP has to reset the cache but they refuse to do so. We are wondering if
anyone has any ideas on how to handle this. Being able to access our website is
vital to our business success and we'd love to solve this problem ASAP. We also
were wondering if anyone knew if this is a dreamweaver glitch of some sort?

Cheers.

Its working from the UK, and is certainly nothing to do with
Dreamweaver. It sounds like a routing issue. It could even be that your
host has blacklisted your networks IP. Get your IT guys to do a tracert
and see where the trace stops.

Hi,
I'm not able to access your site. Your nameservers are listed as
ns1.domain.com, ns2.domain.com, ns3.domain.com. Instinct suggests this
probably isn't right and none of these respond to a ping

Maybe somebody, either in house or at your host, has changed the nameservers
for your domain?

Cheers,
Jon

It works from Germany. It's a long way around half the world (traceroute
shows 22 hops that respond and some more which don't), but finally I can
get to the website.

investix.co.uk resolves to 66.11.230.148, which belongs to Dotster Inc.
This company also owns domain.com, so the nameservers should be right.

Indeed, but this can also be due to some braindead firewall setting on
their end. Some "admins" block ICMP packages.
