Caveat emptor, of course. It's what one would expect with most 'free' stuff
that winds up costing you more than the original suggestion....

Ok so I had a little time to search for you only because I don't think
you should wa$te your money buying something from projectseven that you
could find for free.

Check out
http://widgets.cyclosaurus.com/DropMenu/onMouseover.html view
source or do a search for javascript drop down sub menu.

OP would hardly be wasting his/her money. If you actually bill by the
hour for your work those menus will earn quite a lot with the first site.
YMMV, of course.

The one you linked to doesn't work with javascript turned off, and when
you return to the hover examples from the hover examples, the whole thing
is horked.

don't know how you price your time but, for me, a $79 (or $99... or $199...)
solution that saves me hours of trial and error is the best money i'll spend
all day.

available that may want to be explored before spending money on something that
can be found for free. There is nothing so offensive in expressing my opinion
of searching for free resources before spending money as some may have
misperceived.[/q]

Murray *ACE* - Thanks for your reply, however the main element needed is
the
vertical line showing up on the top categories and the bottom categories.
I did
not see any at projectseven.com template that did that. Plus I need to be
able
to have that exact tan texture graphic in the backgrounds. Could you give
me an
exact link to the one you are referring to or create one custom for me?
Hi Jay,

I almost hate to say this because of the rude remarks from this character
"dwfaqinfo", but to do exactly what you describe in your screen cast is not
going to be possible with a menu tool, be it free or commercial, unless you
can do without the stacked headings to the left of the second sub-menu. If
those are a must, then you need to use a script or method that allows
freeform content in your sub-menus. If you can respond to that, I'll try to
wade through the noise again and see if I can give you a good suggestion.

Wow what a response! Thank you everyone! I did try to find and I'm still
looking for free and commercial solutions to this. This navigation thing goes
beyond my skill level so some sort of cutomizable code seems to be the way to
go.

Al.

From what I know, my client certainly needs the 2 stacked sub headings to the
left.
let me know what you (or anybody else for that matter) can do.

Thanks,
Jay

I have an idea and it would be cool to do an example so if you check back
late tonight (after 11:00pm ET US) look for a link.

Al,

Thanks for doing this! It?s the closest I seen. But it?s not there yet. Can
you have each sub-category list line up with main category? Can you have the
vertical line change horizontal position as you mouse over the main categories
and line up with each main category? Can all this float on top of a textured
image (not a flat color)?

Much appreciated! Like I said, if you can make it work I will gladly pay you
for the time you saved me.

Jay

With some CSS tweaks.

Al,

I showed my client your initial menu and he was very positive. Very
encouraging! So when you have time could you please make the modifications.
Also, how am I supposed to get the code from you? Is this using your plug-in? I
would be happy to buy it if you get this working using it.

You could make this style available on your site for others to purchase to
make it worth your time.

Thanks,
Jay
