Default wanted design style - 06-14-2004 , 09:21 PM

I came across this site http://gear.viper007bond.com/downloads.php and
onmouseover (the left hand column) there pops out a box with writing in it. I
wanted to know how to create the same effect in the simplest way possible. So
far I am able to do it with pictures but have to create slices then a popup
menu (as in http://inspiringmen.com/smplok2.htm )
If anyone knows a better way to create the output in the first link- the
gear.viper... one- please let me know. I have many books and somehow they chose
not to cover that topic. Thanks...

You can do it with Show/Hide layers.

You could end up losing much sleep using show/hide layers to achieve the
effect on the sample page boss3 showed

Trent over at fourlevel has a nice extension that'll make things much
easier:

hi Linda,
Sorry for the late reply, I wanted to know if you could point me in a
direction to learn how to use the features of the Show/Hide layer to achieve my
desired result. So far I have gone through the Dream manuals and index on that
topic but to no avail, I still cannot get that outcome. Maybe its cause I'm
riding on 2 hours sleep...
Cheers

Boss,
sorry to jump in and sorry if it doesn;t help ....
PVII has many layer extensions at
http://www.projectseven.com/extensions/index.htm, under the DHTML (Layer)
Extensions section. Most of them have a tutorial.

hey Craig, I wanted to create this particular action - you can take a look at a
sample @ http://gear.viper007bond.com/downloads.php and onmouseover (the left
hand column) pops out a box with writing in it. Can you tell me what particular
extension will do this for me? Thanks

hey woodtah,
Thanks for the link it was amazing in helping me learn about show/hide layers.
I was wondering how to change the font size/ colour inside the layer
