Does the latest version of Dreamweaver create output
that meets W3C standards? - RM

It has built in tools to help achieve this. For example it can be set so
every time you add an image it will automatically bring up a window
asking for the alt text.

It's validation check is also quite good.

At the end of the day it's the designer and what they do that decides if
it is compliant but I do use a lot of 2004's features to make the
process much easier than ever before.

Thanks for the scoop. W3 offers a link that validates the
site from which it came - place it on your pages and validate
them at will. C.F. www.marshsmithlaw.com

As with any wysiwyg editor, it can only do so much. Of all the wysiwyg
editors I have seen, Dreamweaver produces the least rubbish, but there
is still some, especially for the unwary. The use of a high-end tool
like Dreamweaver does not exonerate the designer from learning
standards-compliant html.

That having been said, the greater emphasis on CSS in the new version
of DW will restrict the amount of rubbish produced.
