Default Viewing Code/Design - 10-30-2005 , 03:45 AM

Why is it that my Dreamweaver won't allow me to view the code of my design? I
can cut/paste the HTML of a website and it will show up in the design window
but when I try and click on the "code" tab it won't allow me to view it in
code. What is causing this?

What does it do when you click on that? What do you see when you use F10
for Code inspector?

Which DW? What is the filename for the file you are viewing?

The tick won't move from "design" position to "code" position.

Dreamweaver 4. It does it on any website of source code I may choose to
cpoy/paste into it.

Sorry - I don't have a clue.

If you create a new page with FILE | New, can you select code view?

What do you see when you use F10 for the Code inspector?

yes. it's really weird because I can copy and paste tyhe HTML of any website
yet it won't allow the tick to move to design view. It stays on code view. I'm
so frustrated why this is happening, it seems something is locking this view.

The code comes up as it should normally. Again trying to view the code in
design mode is unachievable... Can somebody help me please?

yes
So, that works?

Then do it. Select split view. Save the page in the site. Close DW. Open
DW. Open one of the other pages. Does it work now?

I followed your instructions and it won't allow me to see split view. I saved
the file and it only comes up as HTML it won't allow me to view in code form.
Something is preventing this from working...

Interesting JPags you share the same problem but in the opposite way!

I tried playing with this for the past hour to no avail. It seems that
everytime I try to edit or change the HTML it comes up saying "this template
has no editable regions". Now I'm using a template from my own website which is
suppose to be editable!!!
