Using a Template somone else created

Hi,
I normally use Dreamweaver MX by myself, but I'm now on a project with someone else who created a template. My partner checked in the template and the files attached to it. I checked out the files onto my PC.

Dreamweaver MX recognizes the template as a template file, but not a template that has pages attached to it.

What can I do to make Dreamweaver understand that the template file is "active" (or whatever you want to call it) and is being used by HTML files - I would like to make some changes to the template and apply them.
