Default Using Dreamweaver CS3 just for FTP - 02-16-2009 , 01:45 PM

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 for my FTP client and I handcode the pages withing
dreamweaver but not to design tool. I tend to copy files form other places
withing Mac Finder allot. Dreamweaver doesn't show files that I have put into
the site folders from my Mac finder and visa verse. Is there a way to not make
all the files not hidden or should I be doing something different in
Dreamweaver? When I created my site in Dreamweaver I am choosing Site Manager
and and Create a new site (not ftp) When it asks me how do I connect to my
server I choose ftp. Do I have to create the site as an ftp only. (therefor
losing sitewide operations like link checking or site reports) Thanks for your
help.

when you create a new site inside Dr, you should tell Dr where your files are
being stored.
Next, in Remote Info tab choose Ftp and fill in the Ftp Host, Host Directory,
Login and password.
That should work. You can also click on Test to make sure Dr connnects to your
server properly.
Next, click OK and you should see all files in Files Panel in Dr.
