Default uploading multiple files with ASP Upload or similar - 11-15-2005 , 09:58 AM

My client wants to be able to add photos to his website which are
automatically displayed in a nice photo album. I was going to use Pure ASP
Upload extension from dmxzone to allow him to upload his files and insert
new records into a database for use on a gallery page.

However he may well have dozens and dozens of photos to upload at the same
time and he doesn't want to have to select each one individually in a
separate file field.

Does anyone know how I could create a way for him to upload a bunch of files
by just pointing to one folder on his hard drive which holds them all?

Thanks
Vicky

The Unzip Processor (http://www.dmxzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=217) is
designed to work with Pure ASP Upload to handle uploading of multiple files.
You might want to look at the Smart Image Processor as well.

I was looking at both those, and the intention was that I would use smart
processor to resize and generate the thumbnails.

However the drawback of unzip processor is that I'd have to get the client
to zip up the files first. I want the system to be a simple as possible for
him.

I've built one in JSP, you're welcome to that source.

It just uses commons-upload. Im sure you can use the ImageIO from the
JAI package to resize the image (ive done this on an unrelated
projected)

Anyway, let me know. You need a servlet container to host JSP though.

Cheers
Stephen
