Default Upgradeing to Dreamweaver 8 - 12-08-2005 , 12:39 PM

I'm interested in purchasing Dreamweaver 8, I have MX2004. Has anyone upgraded,
if so, do you have to uninstalle MX2004 or do you just start installing 8 and
it writes over 2004.

Also, once upgraded do you lose settings or do all your sites, settings
remain the same.

Anyone experience any problems in the upgrade.

Thanks,

Scott

Each release is a separate installation. Install DW8. Verify that your
DMX2004 site list has migrated. Verify that your extensions have migrated
in Extension Manager, and enable those you want to use actively.

Copy your custom Snippets folder (you can ignore if you have not created any
custom Snippets) from

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
MX 2004\Configuration\Snippets
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)

and paste it into the corresponding DW8 folder.

Now you can delete DMX2004.

Thanks for your help!

Check on Extensions, make sure they transferred.

So, snippets are the only thing I manually have to transfer before deleting
the old program.

Sounds, easy enough. All my sites and their related information will be
transferred, correct?

Again, thanks alot, really appreciate the help.

Scott
