Hi all, Budget is somewhat constrained and I cannot decide if MX 2004 is a need or a want. I could consult the DW upgrade info' but I'de rather hear from people in the field, so to speak, no disrespect to DW intended. What say 'yall? What have those who have upgraded from mx 6.something to mx 2004 found useful? Tks, Lossed |

If you are into CSS layouts then MX04 is a must have, but if you do not then you can stick with MX. I have both on my machine here and I still do a lot of the work in MX. -- Regards Paul Whitham Macromedia Certified Professional for Dreamweaver MX2004 Valleybiz Internet Design www.valleybiz.net Team Macromedia Volunteer for Ultradev/Dreamweaver MX www.macromedia.com/support/forums/team_macromedia "Lossed" <blankemail (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote in message news:cecbji$9aj$1 (AT) forums (DOT) macromedia.com... The majority of my posts to the forum are CSS related as I struggle to get my head around what browsers need what hacks to render what elements the way I want 'em. So maybe MX 2004 is for me :-) "Paul Whitham TMM" <paul (AT) valleybiz (DOT) net> wrote in message news:cecel4$c39$1 (AT) forums (DOT) macromedia.com... if do a search on css hacks roi and what you get is this...... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=css+hacks+roi&btnG=Search near the top of the list are things like this.... ... And FULL CSS has tons and tons of hacks and so-called work around just to get it to work right even in the latest browsers IE 6 and Netscape 7. And that's not ... http://tinyurl.com/4c3m7 seems like you are wasting your time to begin with and it only proves the other side's point....CSS is totally mis-used, especially by lots of people out there..... For me it was a matter of MX being so buggy that it was quite difficult to use. MX 2004 hasn't had as many problems so I'm satisfied with it. However, if you aren't having problems with MX... just stick with it, as most likely in the next few months a new version of Dreamweaver will be coming out, and you could upgrade then.
