Updating Fireworks pop-up menu items

I've managed to create a pop-up menu bar in Fireworks and exported it into my
Dreamweaver template page. Now I want to add links in some of the pop-up menus,
but can't seem to get the new links to show in Dreamweaver. Any ideas what I'm
not doing right?

I've gone back to the original .png file with my pop-up menu.
I've edited my pop-up menu items
I've saved my .png file
I've used export wizard to export the changes (both as full file and slices,
and as "selected slices only")
I've re-opened my Dreamweaver template file, and re-saved it.

The updated pop-up menu items do not appear. If I delete the original image
from Dreamweaver and re-insert the updated one, I don't get any pop-up menu,
which leads me to believe I'm not messing with the right part of the code
(could it be in the mouseover commands?)

Any and all help is appreciated.

The drawbacks of the menus are a valid point. But if you want to get them
working, I was able to do this and make the template and the PNG play
nicely, as long as you do not modify the table too much or when you round
trip the layout, Fireworks version will overwrite the DW layout.

What you want to do is after you export the file and make it a template
(dump the HTM file in the site's root and make sure the images are being
dumped in the /images folder). Then go into the template and click on the
top table level. When you do this, you should see a rectangular Fireworks
button at the bottom of the property manager panel. Make sure the
information on the source PNG to the left of the button is correct (that you
are launching the right PNG). When you click on the FW button, FW will
launch and load the whole PNG; additionally at the top of the window, you
should now see a "Done" button. You can make your edits to the drop downs
and when you are finished, click on the "Done" button, the PNG will close
and you will be dumped back in DW with the updates you made in FW.

It took me some trial and error and despite MM saying it is roundtrip HTML,
in my experience, that is not always the case. I hope this was helpful.
