unsightly gap

Will someone take a look at the code and tell me where that gap between the two images at the top is coming from?

it doesn't help to have a table width="800" and each cell in the row with a
width of 800. I'd ditch the cell width and let the content inside determine
the cell width.

Actually, I'd ditch the tables, but that's the css part of my mind speaking.
