Default unlocking page properties in template - 09-07-2006 , 07:06 PM

I am trying to change meta tags and title in pages created from a Dreamweaver MX 2004 template but I am stumped! Any suggestions how to do this would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Scott Powell

There should be two editable regions in the head of the page for any child
page made from a properly made template. Do you see them there?

No. I don't see any editable regions in the head. Is there a way to see if
that is somehow was turned off in my preferences?

It woudn't be that. This means your template was not made properly. Try
this -

Create a new page and save it as a template with FILE | Save As Template.
Look at the code in the head of the page. Make your template page have
those same editable regions, and save it. Now you're cooking. Always make
sure to save your template pages with that Save As Template option....

Hi Murray,

Thanks! That's it. I always did the save, then chose the dwt extension from
the list. Your way works perfectly!

Good luck. That's what that Save As Template option is for!
