Default Unfamiliar tags - 02-11-2005 , 11:12 AM

I've been asked to look into a maintenance contract for an existing
site. There are some tags in the code with which I'm not familiar:

<csscriptdict import>
<script type="text/javascript" src="filename.js"></script>
</csscript>

<csactiondict>
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
some JavaScript commands for rollovers
// --></script>
</csactiondict>

I can see what the tags do, I just don't know what generated them. The
page looks like it was built from ImageReady slices, but I didn't think
ImageReady spit out those <csscriptdict> and <csactiondict> tags.

I asked the site owner and got the classic glassy-eyed "I have no idea
what you're talking about" response. The original developer is no
longer in business and emails sent to their contact address bounce. (I
sincerely hope the owner can find the FTP information or he is seriously
screwed...).

What generated those <csscriptdict> and <csactiondict> tags?

Thanks.

afaik- they are GoLive tags that GoLive uses internally. They are wrapped
around externally linked JavaScript files right? If yes, feel free to strip
them out.

on a side note- If this is ImageReady stuff, you could experiment with an
older extension of Massimo's to try and convert it to MM behaviors maybe.

It's at the downloads section of lynda.com

Yuck. That's what I was afraid of. I'll ask them if they'd consider
completely redoing the code.

Thanks, Murray.

Thanks, Alan. Given that the original developer is no longer in
business anyway, I think I'll explain that it's time to recode the site
anyway...
