Undo "Set Color Scheme"

I set the color scheme for a page using Commands/Set Color Scheme, and then
changed my mind. I have gone through the code view, and deleted anything that
appears related to setting the color scheme, and it seems to have worked for
most things except for links. I set up the font, color, style, etc for links
both in a linked CSS, and also in Modify/Page Properties. It looks correct in
Design View, however when I preview the page or publish it, the colors are
those I selected in Commands/Set Color Scheme. I appreciate any advice you
might have for fixing this.

One other thing, when I validate the web site, I get the following error:
'Default htm: The tag name "embed" not found in currently active versions.
[HTML 4.0]' This is related to a Shockwave file which I imported. It runs just
fine in preview and in the published site. Should I worry about this?
