Default Unable to upload - able to download - 10-02-2006 , 09:15 PM

For some reason Dreamweaver 8 is unable to upload files to my server. I
can download files all day, but when I try to upload nothing happens. It
asks if I want to put dependent files and, regardless of what I say,
after one second it displays "File activity complete" in the Files panel.

How can I upload files to my web server?

Grab a third party ftp client - free, but as good as any - filezilla - go to
sourceforge and grab a copy.

Have you tried Passive Mode?

Yes I've tried Passive with no success.

I'd really like to use Dreamweaver to upload my files. Any ideas on how
I can get this working?

Is it possible that you are uploading to the TESTING server rather than to
the remote site? I have done this from time to time....

Murray,

I think you might be on to something. I set my Testing Server options to
None and then tried to upload a file. DW gives me this message:

"Before using this feature, you must define a remote server. Would you
like to define one now?"

I click Yes and it takes me to my Remote Info which is all correct. I
click Test and it connects successfully. I click OK and try to upload
again and get the same message from DW.

What should I try now?

What else do you have in your testing server definition?

Remove all of that, please. If you are not using dynamic pages, you do not
need a testing server at all.

What else can I try?
