Default Ultimate Dropdown Menu 2.1.1 - 07-08-2004 , 11:37 AM

I was handed this site to maintain: http://www.butteblues.com

The issue is the javascript menu. Do I have to sift throught the code if I
want to change/add/edit the menu or is there an easier way to do it in
Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc.?

Thanks

Here is the best way to do menus. Learn how from the tutorials and you'll
never look for a 3rd party solution!

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/navigation/snapmenus/index.htm

or

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/navigation/auto_hide/index.htm

and here's an example you can analyze -

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/autolayers/

That's great, but this menu is already completed (previous person set it up)
and I would have to redo the whole menu. I was just looking for an easier
way to edit the one already in place (if there is one). Do you suggest I
redesign the menu using the following tutorials anyway?

Yes, absolutely. Besides the existing menu is only half complete. Those
pop-ups say the same thing. Get rid of them and use the tutorial Murray
provided you with.

The ones you are using now are not user friendly neither are they search
engine friendy.

A small amount of learning now will save you an ocean of time in the future.

Should say web developer friendly, instead of user friendly

Yes, that's what I am suggesting. In the long run, you will be MUCH better
off, as will your page.

By the way, since all the menu links are embedded in javascript code, a
search engine would rank your whole site as if it were a single page (the
one you linked). Since there is scarcely any content there, and no semantic
markup, I'm guessing your ranking would not be good. But I don't know if
that's a concern for such a 'local' type site....
