Default UK host that allows simple forms to be used? - 06-09-2008 , 02:39 PM

Hello,

Can anyone suggest a UK provider that allows hosting of a simple form built in
DWCS3? Some providers, such as 123-reg, only seem to allow it if you write
some sort of cgi-script (of which I know nothing about) or suggest downloading
one and then ammending it ! As stated, looking at cgi scripts means nothing to
me and suggesting I alter it to suit rather defeats the purpose of me using
DWCS3 and its WYSIWYG interface.

Thanks

*nix hosting, so PHP/MySQL supported, not ASP.

No connection, just a happy customer....

Dreamweaver does not have built in functionality to send a form. A form
processor needs to be present. This is a script written in CGI, PHP, ASP, etc.
Depending on your server setup will depend on what you can use although CGI is
normally common to both. Normally developers who make these scripts make
instructions telling you exactly what to edit while you are looking at the file
in Dreamweaver so that you can use it on your site.

Hi, My name is Nathaniel McInnes and i am the proud owner of Cymraeg Wales
Hosting, one of Wales biggest and most trusted web hoster http://chostwales.com

Something like this sounds fine for any hosting provider to provide as it only
requires PHP & MySQL, However in your case it sounds that you require more a
CGI form than a PHP & MySql Form.

Best,

Nathaniel McInnes
