Hello, I am the webmaster for a small business who has recently started up a second website for a child company. I now need to upload two different websites to two different ftp servers, but for some reason, I'm having a heck of a time with it! I upload the files onto one server, server A, and it ends up on the other server, server B. Not only is it being uploaded to the wrong place, but it is screwing with my index pages as well, and I'm unable to access the files in windows explorer, like I have done in the past to upload the websites. For general day-to-day uploading of a few pages, I just copy from the backup site in dreamweaver and paste it in the ftp site in dreamweaver. When I do major changes, like template changes where I have to upload the whole website for the changes to occur, I use windows explorer with my files in one window and the ftp site in another. If anyone could give me insight as to why I'm having these problems that would be great. I'm assuming it's something to do with compatability issues between dreamweaver and windows or something, but I'm running out of troubleshooting ideas, and I would really appreciate any help I could get. Thanks much! ~ADottl (AT) msn (DOT) com |

I am using both dreamweaver's ftp upload process and the built-in one in windows explorer. I have seperate sites defined in dreamweaver for each of the ftp sites, as well as seperate sites set up for each of the backup versions that i work on directly (I don't work directly on the server because it slows productivity and working on a backup allows for more leway when making boo boos). so basically i have my sites defined as thus: FTP://SITE A FTP://SITE B Backup site A Backup site B I have both sites defined with a passive ftp server, and both ftp sites are hosted by the same company. thanks for your help! ~ADottl (AT) msn (DOT) com |
