Default Tricked - 11-12-2004 , 11:18 PM

Hi, I went onto Amazon.com to buy Dreamweaver. I don't have much money so I
browsed the used products. I was told that the version I was buying was the
full version and it was just an upgrade. So now I have this upgrade, but it
does me no good 'cause I don't have anything to upgrade from. Any ideas?

Some people will sell an older version after they have upgraded. If you
purchase one of these older versions be sure that the seller will transfer
ownership to you. Also, verify if it is an educational version or not.
You'll want to avoid the educational version because Macromedia strictly
enforces proof of student/teacher status.

Somewhere on the MacroMedia site is the form for transfering title of
ownership. Get a copy of it so you understand what will and what will not
work.

Call the seller.

Thats about the only thing you can do as MacroMedia will not replace your product with the full version as it wasn't their problem.

I'm sure that this does happen, but it's not legal; if you upgrade from
(say) MX to MX2004, you still need to retain ownership of the MX version.
Macromedia are unlikely to let the original purchasor transfer ownership to
someone else when they have upgraded, unless the transfer includes the
upgrade as well.

What Linda and Dylan said. In addition, report the vendor to Amazon, to
PayPal if they used PayPal; if you used your credit card to pay, call
your credit card company and have the charge stopped.
