Which version of DW are you using? I have 8. I'm intrigued that I see the
same problem with FileZilla 2, but not FileZilla3, so perhaps there was
something that got fixed in v3?

I know it does have this set correctly.

Is your account at HMS Windows or Linux?

All of my HMS accounts are Linux.

1-3 , same for me. I couldn't duplicate 4.

I've never had this happen anywhere else (ipowerweb, site5, hostgator, my
own dedicated server).

The time being shown is 4 hours ahead, which would be GMT right now. One
site I saw on the web about something similar said to check that the
server was set for the proper GMT. Perhaps their server doesn't have GMT
correct?

Strange that I see the correct time in Filezilla version 3 though.
Filezilla version 2 is showing the wrong time.

Is your account at HMS Windows or Linux?

Brenda:

Here are my latest details -

1. I am located in EDT (Philadelphia area)
2. Many of my sites are hosted on a Linux server also located in EDT
(Upstate Delaware)
3. When I create a page, save it, and upload it, the resulting
'timestamp'
as displayed in DW's remote view is 4 hours later than it should be.
Specifically, a page I saved this morning at 8:00 AM, and immediately
uploaded is shown on the server (in remote view) as being uploaded at
12:00
PM today. This happens with EVERY file, on every site at this location.
4. What is very curious is this - if I PUT the file, and IMMEDIATELY
switch
to remote view, I see the file appear with the CORRECT timestamp, and
about
4 seconds later, blammo, the timestamp changes before my eyes!

Now, if I log onto the site with Filezilla, or WS_FTP, or even with
Windows
Explorer, I see the correct timestamp! The file I uploaded at 8:00 AM
is
shown with a timestamp of 8:00 AM. But not in DW's Remote view.

Is that consistent with your experience? Do you see this same thing on
other, non-HMS sites?

Hmmm... I have a Linux server at HMS, just as all my other accounts at
other hosts. Can't see why this would be different...

HMS said something about *nix vs. Windows when I first contacted them.
My only other experience with this has been on Windows servers
(ChicagoWebs), where the timestamp is bang on.

Here's another strange twist: on Filezilla (v. 3.0.8.1) on my Vista
computer, I see the correct timestamps; but on Filezilla (v.
2.2.13.a) on my XP computer, I see the 'future' timestamps. DW shows
the 'future' timestamps on both computers.

I regularly connect to servers in Texas and NJ, with no problems at
all, both in DW and FZ.

Strange...

I have the same problem with HMS, and only with HMS. It's such a
lowgrade issue for me that I have never taken the time to pursue it,
honestly.

I am in the Philadelphia region, and they are in Delaware - just
over the state line. We are in the SAME timezone. Yet I just saved
a file locally with a timestamp of 8:02AM, uploaded it, and it shows
there with a timestamp of 12:00 PM. You have motivated me to call
them again and ask them what the heck is going on. Perhaps if you
called them too, it might help.

By the way, after uploading it, I immediately switched to remote
view and THE FILE HAD THE RIGHT TIMESTAMP. I actually SAW it change
to 12:00 PM! Strange indeed. I just did it with another file, and
noted the same behavior....

I just moved a site to a new server (at HostMySite.com). Whenever I
upload a page, DW shows the timestamp on the remote file to be 4
hours ahead of my time. I verified with HostMySite that the time
zone on the server is set to Eastern Daylight Time, as is my
computer. Plus, when I look at the files on the server through
Filezilla, the timestamps are correct. So it appears DW is somehow
misinterpreting the timestamps.

I've worked on lots of other sites at other hosts and never had a
problem before. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your help.

Brenda

I have seen this problem as far back as DW8, Brenda. I sure hope they fix
it.
