I want my navigator bar to remain in one place
while the main area of my page moves.

I don't want to use frames.

The only way I have found is to use a layer
box and select overflow, scroll in the Property
Inspector.

This works OK, but an additional scroll bar
is added.

Is there a better way to do this without using
frames.

Marja Ribbers-de Vroed's site
http://www.flevooware.nl/dreamweaver

Look for the persistent layer extension.

Here is a way of doing it except for IE 5. (I expect there is a way of doing
it with that too, but I haven't found it yet. Work in progress). Valid HTML
4.01 & CSS, no script.

Hi Les.

Have a look at this site that I am working on. Is this what you are after?

I don't see anything there similar to what he was asking. Perhaps you could
direct my eyes?

Should be OK now :-)

It doesn't work at all in Mozilla/PC or in Safari/Mac. It works in a
confusing way in IE5/Mac.

I guess it's not a great solution....
