Default Text size in code view changed? - 07-08-2003 , 03:30 PM

This is a new one for me ...

I am working with some HTML a programmer gave me to pretty up with CSS. I
finished working on one file, closed it, and went to open the next. The text
size in code view is obnoxiously bigger! In fact, of the four files the
programmer gave me, all but that first one have this big text in code view.
The first file I attached a CSS, manipulated the CSS, and attached a
template. The second one I attached the CSS, attached the template, and the
text got big. The other two files I haven't touched (except to open them)
and the text is big. None of my other HTML files have this problem (even
after this phenomenon).

I checked my DW preferences and system font sizes and everything is fine.
Changing these values made no difference in the effected files. I am in DWMX
on Win2k.

Any idea what is going on? TIA!

It could be the result of different encoding in the files. Check Modify >
Page Properties > Document Encoding. What does that say for the different
files?

Hey, that's it! The one was Western (like all "my" HTML) and the others
Unicode 8.

Do you happen to know what I can do about it? <:-)

Well, if your developers are using a Unicode encoding, there might be a
reason for it. In order to change the setting for code view, you will need a
unicode font on your system that is a monospaced font, like Courier. I think
Windows ships with only Arial Unicode MS, which is not a monospaced font..
