Hi everyone,
i'm trying to create some text buttons for a
site i'm developing for a client
using both photoshop CS and DW. These have to be in gif format so
the back is transparent but the text looks just plain awful. I looked
at a few other sites and their text buttons are gif format so I
wondered if there was some method i'm not aware of to make them look
decent ? What i'm doing right now is 15 H X 100 width, text Arial
Narrow, black, regular @ 9pt, crisp. Anyone have any advice on this
for me please ? |
Why do they have to be gif? Why not just actual text and not image at all?
Points (as in 9pt) is for print, not for web, btw.
And Arial narrow will not turn out right with a transparent background. It
is not a "for web" text. Try "Trebuchet MS" or Verdana. Both of these are
great for just text in gifs with transparent backgrounds with anti-aliasing
completely turned off.
I still think you're better off without any images at all, though.
