Default template updates not displaying - 03-10-2005 , 08:16 AM

This is a really strange situation:

On my development machine (XP) I have created and uploaded a new text
hyperlink and new image hyperlink. Additionally I have edited an existing text
link and associated image link. All appears fine when I test using my system,
but these new links are reported to not appear for customers visting the web
site. So I checked it out on a different computer (Win 2000), and sure enough,
these updates are not reflected. I cannot seem to pinpoint what conditions
prevent these new and updated links from appearing.

Both computers are running same versions of IE and Firefox. However my
Development computer is XP and testing machine where I can reproduce the
reported issue is Win 2000.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

So - you make a change (to the template? to the child page?) and upload the
changed file? And when you browse to the file, you see the change? But
when you (on a different system) or your customers browse to the page they
do not see the change?

Isn't this a browser cacheing problem? What would it have to do with
templates?

Hi Murray,

I have no idea what the problem is and that's why I spelled out the entire
scenario. I've cleared out Cache, that was the first logical step, but to no
avail. I really don't understand why this is happening, and occurred since
recently upgrading to XP. Whether or not that has something to do with it I
really don't know. I'm here asking for help in pinpointing the problem and how
to fix it.

Give me a link to the pages, and tell me which changes you have made that
are not appearing for some, please.

thank you Murray,

All appears correctly on XP, w/IE6 and Firefox. Specific issues are below
with Win2000, IE6 and Firefox. I appreciate you taking the time although this
is outside of the Macromedia arena...

http://www.nashfinch.com/test/familythriftctr/index.html
Left navigation bar should show Home, Locations, Weekly Ad, Our Brands,
Recipes, Corporate, Contact Us
"Weekly Ad" does not appear Win2000, IE6 and Firefox

At http://www.nashfinch.com/test/familythriftctr/258.html below the store
address should appear a text hyperlink to Location Map and Weekly Ad. Text
hyperlink to Weekly Ad does not appear on Win2000 machine, w/IE6 and Firefox

At http://www.hajnasiewicz.com/funfly.htm
Scroll to bottom of page, Image for ZoomsHeli and Model Avionics do not appear
on Win2000 machine, w/IE6 and Firefox

thank you very much.

I see it in WXPPro-IE6/FF. OS would not be expected to make a difference
here. However, Antivirus action could. Norton commonly deletes such things
from your pages when it sees words like "Ad". Try renaming that linked page
to 'weeklysavings.html' or something and see what happens. Also, ask those
who do not see it if they are using Norton as an antivirus.

Same comment as above. I see it on my system, and I do NOT run Norton.

Again, same comment.

By the way, you still have the old code for the DW/FW pop-up menus on the
first page linked. You should get rid of that as soon as you can.
