Default Template problem error code-43 - 07-31-2004 , 02:35 PM

I cannot create new docs from template file. I get a "cannot access error code
-43"

My site management is correct and the template was created correctly.

It's in my template folder in the right site. It does not however appear in
the assets file.

What is the operating system?

What is the local path to the Local Site Folder?

pls do this, and paste the result into your reply.

Open a new document, with File-->New
---->Don't Save This File<--
insert an image that is from site's Local Site Folder
Ignore the nag about saving the file- don't save the file.

look in the source- what is the path in the image tag?
<img src="file:///yourharddrive/blah/blah

My guess is there is a bad character in the folder names.
such as 7/14/2004 or similar

Current%20File12%3A03

What is the name of that folder?

Is it Current File12:03 ?

If yes, rename the folder to get rid of the : colon.
Then go into the Site definition in Dw, and fix to the new folder path:
Local Info: Local Site Folder
Site Map: Location of "homepage"

Hey Thanks..
I removed the date from the folder and it works fine.. What does the date do?
What date?
Did you create and name that "current file" folder or something else made
it?

It was Current File 12/03. I created it. I sometimes date files for backup reference.

it's no problem to put an indication of the date in a folder or file name.
It is a very big problem for dreamweaver on mac if you use characters like /
or : or \ and others in the name. It kills dw's ability to read the file
path correctly.

Dreamweaver couldn't find your files because it thought there was a folder
named "Current File 12" and another folder inside of it named "03" instead
of a single folder named "Current File 12/03"
