Default Template and popup menu - 11-23-2004 , 04:15 PM

I made a template which contains a popup menu.
I apply the template to a web-page, popup menu works just fine.
But when I apply the same template to another page, nothing happens on "mouse
over"
So sometimes it works ok, sometimes not. Fortunately, thats not good enough!
I can't find a reason, even tried to read the code, but I'm just a beginner at
that.
Anyone?

Doesn't sound like you are using templates correctly. How are you applying
the template to the "other' page?
The best methodology is to 'create' a new page from a template. Sounds like
the way you are doing this is hosing the links / behaviours.

thanks, but that was not the problem. Just read an answer to someone elses
question in this forum:
"The problem is that the pop-up menu links are buried in JavaScript.
Dreamweaver cannot manage them to maintain the path's correctly. That's why
they are not template compatible. The built-in pop-up menu is really
dreadful, outdated technique. There are MUCH better ways to implement pop-up
menus that are NOT a problem with templates."

I'm afraid I'll have to think of something else..
