Hi. I've recently built a site for my wife Cicily, which you can find at
http://www.cicilyjanus.net. My question is regarding nav bars and templates.
One of the coolest things, IMHO, of templates is how easy it is to add,
subtract, or change the links of your nav bars. On this site it works fine, but
.... In a perfect world, here's what I'd like. On each page, I'd like an
un-clickable text image of that page's link on the nav bar which is the darker
green of my "visited" link color. (Sort of like the site
http://www.briansacawa, although his uses Flash navigation). This would be
different for each page, of course. No problem, right? I just put the nav bar
in an editable region when I originally made the template, and then I proceeded
to do whatever I wanted to each page's nav bar. The problem arose when I needed
to add a new button, and of course it wouldn't add it to any of the dependent
pages. Is there a way I can have my cake and eat it too - that is, can I have
those page-specific graphics on the nav bars and still be able to add,
subtract, or change buttons globally? Or do I either need to 1) settle for what
I have (which is having one nav bar which is not part of an editable region),
or 2) update each page individually? This isn't a problem on this site, which
has fewer than 10 pages. It's definitely not something I'd want to do on a
larger site, though. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks,
Ryan Janus
