I have created a template in Dreamweaver (using Adobe Dreamweaver CS4) that has links which use relative references. I'm linking to other pages in the site. The links are not in an editable area of the template. When I click "New from Template", the new page converts the links from relative (.../index.html) to absolute (f;/// etc etc etc) Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Or does anyone have a theory? I'm on CS3 but this sort of thing has happened to me with new pages when |

I'm on CS3 but this sort of thing has happened to me with new pages when there isn't a relevant site set up in Site>New Site. * Is your Template in the same folder as your HTML files or in a Template folder? *I just played around with one of my templates and failed to reproduce what you are getting even if I have seen it before. *In this case my template is in a Templates folder - I open the template and, when I then save to the folder where the new page should live, CS3 asks if I want to update the links - and does so correctly. I'm sure others will have the answer but if you haven't created a New Site for the project that may be the answer. -- Duncan K Downtown Dalgety Bay |
