Template and Child save as

I have made a site with a Template and have made some childpages from this
from Assets and new from template and everything is ok.
Now I have made childpages another way because some of the sites look
similar. I save one of the childpages with save as and then give it another
name.

It's seems to work when I update the Template and childpages but just want
to be sure if it's ok to do it this way?
