Default Tables - better coding - 07-12-2004 , 01:08 PM

Hi,

I have a series of thumbnails to display.

For my idividual coding purposes, is it best to place them all in one table
with many split cells, or to put them in many single cell tables? (I wish
to display them as background images with a blank gif overlaid).

Thanks,

Neil

P.S. I know you can't stop people downloading images, but it fools some...

I doubt it. Certainly not those who want them.

Splitting cells is troublesome, and not a good layout method, generally
speaking. However, I think a single table with cells for the images would
be a fine way to go.

It only bloats the code, nothing more.

it does do more-

it may raise suspicions about what else may be on the site.
If some effort is made to poorly "protect" something some folks will start
looking around.
I've often gotten curious when there's a no-right-click script on a page,
sometimes i'll find:
open image directory listings
open Stats folders listing every folder and file
A google search on a single domain will reveal a lot.
