Default Syncronizing Time Problems - 07-09-2003 , 04:59 AM

Hi. I seem to be having some problems with the syncronize option...

I think the problem is because my local server is in London, my testing
server is in London, but my remote server is in California. Would that cause
probems? When i go to Sync and put all newer files, (with selected local
files) it only lists one or two of them. If change the setting to Entire
site, it lists the WHOLE site eventhough most of it hasn't been changed.

Any suggestions to manage this?

Jordan:

I never use Synchronize.

I always expand the site manager, sort by date, select the current date
files and PUT them. Might this method help you?

Jordan:

Why would you have to do any time converting?

Here's the thing. When you save a file to the local site, DMX uses the
local time.

When you upload the file to the server, DMX sets both the local file and the
remote file to the timestamp used on the server. This is how DMX tracks
which files need to be synchronized, I think.

As far as I can tell, there would be no need to convert anything.

Jordan:

But when you sort the local site by date, you are only looking for the ones
you JUST changed, no?

I can see my posts but never get any responses. I was just wondering if I need
to subscribe somehow differently. Maybe my questions are just too boring?

Thanks
