Default Synchronization unreliable - 01-31-2009 , 07:10 PM

My web hosting service migrated my account. Now when I synch my remote site,
files get transferred but DW CS3 does not recognize that they have been
updated/synchronized on the remote site. I have done several folder or site
wide synchronizations, yet still when I run it again, I still find hundreds of
files that allegedly require synchronization. I can click on certain single
files to "Display Synchronize Information" and I get the "There is no
synchronize information for this file...". I Put the file to the remote, file
Puts Ok. But I can then click on the local file to "Display Synchronize
Information" and I still get the "There is no synchronize information for this
file...".

I have followed and done the advice in the KB to turn off Remote Info >
Maintain synchronization Into, then turn off DW, let it delete all the
dwsync.xml files, etc., and restart DW All of these dwsync.xml files were
deleted as expected. Turned back on the Maintain synchronization Into. Still
have the same problem.

I also deleted the cache ...Configuration\WinFileCache-5FBCXXXX.dat and let it
be rebuilt, to no avail.

There are no un-applied updates to CS3 at this time.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Here is further info on this problem. There are many files on my local server
which if I click on one and select "Display Synchronize Information", I get
this message: "There is no synchronize information for file..." Even if I then
synchronize the file with the remote server, uploading it, I still get the same
message after selecting "Display Synchronize Information", namely"There is no
synchronize information for file...". Such an obvious bug must have some
workaround. I am currently left with hundreds of files that never receive
synchronization information and must be uploaded each time I synchronize. I am
guessing this is some kind of handshaking problem between DW and my host
server, maybe a firewall interaction (Norton Internet Security) or a problem
fetching the synch information from the remote server. Any ideas, anyone?

Thank you:brokenheart;

We recently had a very similar issue, where we could Put and Get files
o.k. but the synchronization always said "No synchronization is
necessary ...". The problem was solved when the host server we'd just
migrated to remembered to include the relevant ACL permissions files.

It's a month late, but hope this is helpful.
