Default switching from ftp to http - 11-23-2004 , 04:51 PM






i am sorta new at creating websites, and i got my pages as far as going online.
I need to switch from ftp to http and i have no idea how to do it.....There is
already a page on the internet but i am trying to replace it with one from
dreamweaver..... if someone could plz tell me how to do this, i would be very
appreciative.....

I think we need more info. How are you uploading your pages? Via an
independent ftp software program, or what? What to you mean by "switch from
ftp to http"?

well actually, i just need to replace an old website created from somewhere
else with the one i am creating now on dreamweaver.....the website now is
http://www.creditorsalliance.com/, and to get to my page i have to go to
http://www.creditorsalliance.com/home.html....i want my page im creating now to
be the first one i stated...i am completely lost on how to do this....and i
have no idea about how i uploaded my pages, i just played around with it alot
till something happened...like i said, im def. an amateur....

Probably, you page should be "index.html" - not "home.html"

Rename your home.html page to either index.html or default.html that should do the trick (and overlay your old 'homepage'.)

It doesn't really have to do with web site design at all; it has to do with
how your web host handles your files.
