Default SSI or MYSQL - 07-11-2008 , 01:21 AM

I run a site for people to access info on various social resources. I have used
Server Side Includes to store the small quantites of info on various
organisations, and it is displayed fine. However, to check the info remains
accurate I have to chase up each organisation every few months, collect any
changes and make the alterations to the ssi's.
I am wondering if by changing to a database-run system I could get the various
organisations to input the updated info themselves.
Would it be very complicated to setup?
Am I likely to run into endless problems? I have only a very small experience
of php/mysql.
Is there some existing system I can employ so that I don't have to try and
re-invent the wheel?
An example of my site can be seen at
http://www.hopeless.me.uk/Pages/daya...ivities_bx.php
Thanks,
Steve

Hey, have you thought about using a CMS. I use Expression Engine which is pretty easy to setup and works a treat!

Starting from ground zero with dynamic coding, databases and application
building? Yes, most likely, if you are wanting to do a custom application.

Not if it's done properly, no.

You could take a look at http://www.content-seed.com - it's pretty simple,
and might be all you need.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I've had a quick look at Contentseed but I dont think it will do. I realise
that I had not made it clear to you that the ssi's that show up on the webpage
I gave also appear on other webpages. Some are used many times, and so to edit
any content on one page will not do. I need something where one change will
change the content site-wide, which is why I thought a database system might be
needed.
Any other thoughts?
