ssi conflict

Hi,
I am building an asp site, where a username and password login table appears
on every page in the navbar. it is an "asp include" put into a template.
It works fine when the pages link to static pages, but if a page has a
recordset in it, then it doesn't display online.
A recordset in the "include page" seems to conflict with recordsets in the
host pages, causing them not to display!

Any theories?
