Hi,

I read that Spry Menus are not SEO friendly.

Are Spry Menus created in Dreamweaver CS3 SEO friendly?

I can see the <a> links in the html. It looks OK to me.

Thanks,
Jeff:confused

You are correct in thinking that they are indeed SEO friendly. Where
did you hear otherwise?

Hi Michael,

I read it on this site/page:
http://www.webdesignerwall.com/gener...for-designers/

they were saying ajax menus are not SEO friendly.

Are Spry ajax based?

Thanks,
Jeff

No, as you noted yourself, they are simply Unordered lists, with all the
href links hard coded and plainly visible on the page, and subsequently
styled with css. No AJAX is involved.

I think that there is Ajax involvement, but it's not involved so that the
links are 'obfuscated'.

Really? Is there more than just the UL spry menu that I don't know
about? The ones I've worked on with divaGPS have always been simple
unordered lists.

There is no Ajax involved in the Spry menus, only dynamically showing and hiding of the sub menus with JavaScript. Granted some have come to call anything dynamic like this Ajax these days, but it's technically not got anything to do with Ajax.

I suspect Murray was just trying to confuse me. It's so easy to do!

I rather suspect that Murray #6 was the one that was confused. :-)
