Default Spry menu - works only the first time or two - 08-10-2008 , 06:53 PM

I put up a Spry menu, according to the book (half a dozen or so main menu
items, a couple of those with three-item sub-menus - of course this is in a
template applied to the relevant pages). It works fine in the pages when live
on the web. Then after one or two openings of the menus, the bottom two-thirds
of the menus stop working! The top one or two menus still do their thing, but
the rest of them no longer open the linked page. This has happened when the
page is opened both on Safari Mac and on IE7 Windows.

At least on one occasion, emptying the cache on Safari fixed temporarily -
then the problem came back ...

Is this a known issue? Are there workarounds?

Very much thanks in advance! I need to make this page work, and this problem
has me buffaloed.

I honestly have not heard this issue before. If you have never been to the
official Spry website, head over there and download the 1.6.1 update package.
Inside you will find some samples and an extension. Install the extension,
restart DW, and under the Sites menu you will see a new option to update Spry.
Run that and then re-upload the SpryAssets folder.

Thanks for your help both times.

I have installed the Spry extension. I have updated the site Spry Assets
folder and uploaded to the web server. Unfortunately the problem persists. The
menus work the first time, the next time they are dead, that is they fail to
link to the appropriate pages.

Here is the URL, in case it is useful to look at the source. But i understand
you may also have to see the .css

Thanks again, lorena

Some of your pages are not linked as others. For instance some pages have:

<li><a href="CrownVillas.html">Crown Villas </a></li>
<li><a href="CrowResidenceS.html">Crown Residence Suites</a></li>
<li><a href="JuniorSu.html">Junior Suites</a></li>

But the VipAmenities.html page has:

<li><a href="#">Crown Villas </a></li>
<li><a href="#">Crown Residence Suites</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Junior Suites</a></li>

Great you helped me so much, Thanks

Your insight on the code was right, and we had a bad page. Incidentally the template had not updated correctly until we fixed another problem.
