Default Spry Menu copy and paste problem - 03-24-2009 , 09:10 PM

I have done this previously, that is, copied the code from a spry menu to
another page in the same site. It came out fine.
Now I can not seem to make it work. I am redesigning my home page from scratch
and need to use the same menu.
However, when I copy and paste the code into the code view I get this ugly
blue hyperlink menu. Is there another way to do it and retain all the work I
did creating the original menu?

Sorry - without a preview/code, it's a stab in the dark - but you have to
remember that the code for the menu is only part of the equation. It's linked
to a specific stylesheet, and other files usually located in a spry folder in
your directory, so if you didn't copy-paste the parts of the code that
(scripts, etc.) that link the menu to the things that run it, that will cause
the failure you describe.

You have a couple of options - it's almost easier in this case to start with
your original page with the menu in place and "Save As" a new file. Then remove
all of the elements that you don't want on the page (leaving just your menu),
and starting over from there...

Hope that helps...
Cheers

Thanks whatevva.
I tried removing all except the spry menu but the spry menu deletes every time
I delete anything near it that I do not need. The last time I copied this same
menu onto an additional page on my site It actually automatically pulled up the
css and worked fine.

It looks like I am just going to have to redo the menus. Another all-nighter.

:frown;
