Default spam harvesting- www.pluginlab.com - 09-02-2006 , 02:22 AM

enough said. that firm is sending to emails i've only used here years ago.

And, after navigating their CLIENT_SIDE javascript form validation for the
contact page and making it submit, it does a adob error. They only accept
sales contacts, no way to tell them to send no more mail. It's spam, yummmm.
Pure spiced pork product.

I like this, taken from their order page:

https://pluginlab.com/shared/img/samplegticon.gif

Other than the fact that they're registered by Dotster and hosted by
Rackspace, probably in the UK, there's no (physical) contact
information about them. They even use an anonymizing service for their
WHOIS information. It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Lacking a copy of the spam... The other thing to do is to go through the
email, find out where it was injected into the email system, and complain
to them, too. There are places that will help you do this - Spamcop and
Sam Spade both have online tools and/or tutorials for teasing out the
origin of spam, and there are a bunch of others out there.

Hi,

My name is Radin. I am the project manager at Pluginlab.com. For the record we
made a big mistake and purchased an "Opt In" list of targeted emails form an
Indian company. That is why some of you may have got an email announcement from
us recently.

We have since stopped using this list and are taking legal action against the
company that sold it to us! I apologies to everyone who received any emails
without your consent.

Also we have just launched our new site. A lot has changed and we are making
every effort to support our clients and meet their needs. We will be posting
full details of our headqueters, and management team on our site within the
next couple weeks. These pages are being made right now.

Best regards,

Radin

I got that email announcement. I have not opted-in on an Indian
company's list. As a matter of fact, the only opt-in corresponding to
the email address I received your mail from is with Macromedia.

I guess there is at least one benefit to being an anonymous webforum
user around here :-)

Hi Alan,

There are hundreds of firms online where you can buy lists of emails. This is
what we did and it was a big mistake. We paid over $1000 for the list

The collection methods of these firms are not often clear and in our case we
were defrauded based on the companies claims as to their method of collection
of emails. They told us these emails were Opt In emails and on that basis we
used them. We have contacted this firm in India and have had no response,
therefore we are taking legal action to recover damages at this time.

Again we do apologies for sending this one email. We are learning by our
mistakes.

Best regards,

I meant no offense intended by any means... I took a look at your company's
website last night. I notice that one of your product offers anti-spam
solution. But when it comes to this situation, I see that it doesn't make any
sense to me. I mean, why did it happened to one of your customers experienced
spammed emails.

You are in web industry and you should know about big 'no no' about promoting
spammed emails these days.

Your company's website and products seem to be cool, but I was afraid that I'd
being spammed because of your lousy service. I am NOT very fond of spammed
emails. I have absolutely ZERO tolorance with spammed emails. I am sorry to say
that I will not visit nor purchase any products from your company because of
spammed email problems. I do not want to waste my time fixing spammed emails
all over again.
