spacing problems

Hello, Im an extreme newbie to dreamweaver. I'm trying to input text and images
into the body of a webpage but when i click the cursor inside the body and
press space the typing cursor doesn't move. this is particularly troublesome as
any images or text i paste inside the body is automatically placed in the
extreme far left and i cant move them. im sure there's a ridiculously simple
solution?

This is how html works. Consecutive space are treated as a single space. You
can insert a non-breaking space, but this is not the correct way to position
things in a web page. Learn to use tables or a little css instead of using
spaces to control postion and margins.
