What's a shift between friends? Right....

Shows how often I use it.

Me, too. Only know it off the top of my head because I have to teach it in
my DW tutoring.

BTW, we're either being ignored or the web forum is behind again.

If MX or 2004, you could go into Edit-->Preferences and in General prefs,
"allow multiple consecutive spaces"

it will then insert non-breaking space character for the multiples.

Note- it's not a good idea to use blank spaces as a layout tool- since they
are text- they will change in size when people resize text.

Well I'm using design mode, not code, and it can't log more than once space in
a row.

My friend recently went on vacation, and he's letting me try making a site
with
Dreamweaver while he's gone (I'm using his PC). It's just a fun thing, not
gonna actually put it on the net or anything, but I will type a word, then
press space 4 or 5 times, and it only makes one actual space. For example, I
want a distance of this much ( ) and I press the space bar that
many times, but it still comes out to be ( ) no matter what. Any idea how I
can
fix this?

If you're looking to align text, like in a list of contacts, use a
table. I have a client who gives me all their content in Word HTML
files, and it takes a lot of cleaning up to remove all those &nbsp
tags. You'd be surprised how much code they can add--doubling or
tripling the size of a page. You shouldn't even use multiple spaces or
tabs even in Word except as an absolute last resort.
