Can someone help me with jump menus? I have two web pages I have designed with
descriptions of characters for a web comic I'm doing on them and would like to
create a jump menu that when the character's name is selected, it will go to
the corrosponding area within the two pages. I was told that named anchors
would help when navigating to specific areas on pages, but how do you link an
anchor to a name in the jump menu? Is it possible? I've really tried.... I
would love to know what the URL should be as I can't seem to figure it out....

Make your jump menu link to #name1 (where 'name1' is the name of the named
anchor) rather than to a page's filename.

Ok, I'll give it a try. How come you guys are so smart anyway? That question
was way too easy for you huh? All the men I meet are either what I'm wearing or
just football and alcohol and the women, well, some don't even care.... I want
to learn everything about Dreamweaver and become a freelance Website Designer
someday. I'm glad I signed up for these forums, hopefully all you talented guys
and gals out there will be kind enough to keep on helping!

Thanks for the assist! ^_^

I typed that last post a bit wrong, but away from that I do have one more
question to ask.... I haven't tried the solution you gave me yet, but.... If
the information I want to link to is on another page, could I still just enter
the anchor name I placed there or is there a longer URL I have to enter? URLs
in programs have always been my weak spot.

You enter a normal link to the other page followed by #anchorname, i.e.

otherpage.html#anchorname

You know what, I actually just figured it out myself through trial and error. I thought you had to use slashes and stuff. Seems this is way easier. Microsoft can learn something from this.... =^_^=

You may need to use slashes and or dots, depending on what directory
the pages are in. If they are not in the same directory, you'll need
to use some of them. Just create a normal link to the page by clicking
the folder icon and browsing to the file. Once you have that part
done, just add the #anchorname at the end of the link.
