Default So embarassed to ask this question...... - 07-17-2003 , 08:30 PM

I want to have a browser window open up (like a popup) when a user load a certian page, and I can't figure out how to do it. I want to be able to control the dimensions of the new open window.

I tried using the behaviours, but the trigger is a SWF file, and DWMX wont allow this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

in the trigger frame of the flash movie, apply action get URL, then set a target for blank. i think some version of this will work. you need to bat it around a little. good luck

You will to embed the link in the flash file by using the GetURL function to
call the open browser window js. The easiest way I know of is to place a
temp link in your page and set up the Open Browser window behavior. Then
copy the onClick section of the <a href> that is inside the quotes. Not the
tag itself, nor the quotes. Just the part between the quotes and paste this
inside the GetURL function in flash. You might have to add "javascript:"
before the call to the js in flash, but I'm not sure. Hopefully someone more
versed in Flash will come along with some clarification.

We have an extension at DMXzone called Advanced Open Window. It will let
you
create a popup window with a flash movie and you can control the
dimensions
of the popup and the position on the screen.
It is a nice commercial (not free) extension, and will allow you to create a
pop up with flash as its content. However, it will not allow to launch a pop
up from a flash file, however. Not sure its worth $59, but that is just my
opinion.
