Smooth dynamic news scroller

Can anyone recommend a good (free) Dynamic (ASP Recordset), vertical
news scroller?
Could be JavaScript or any other method so long as it's cross browser
compatible.

It needs to scroll very smoothly and be able to pull data from a
database.

you can use the vertical marquee, as it is a good option instead of
using JS
