Slow Page Load with Popup Menus

I am using the Popup menu behavior on my site's home page. That page is very
slow to load, with some broadband users saying it takes over a minute to
appear. Other pages on the site with similar content, but no popups, load very
quickly. Does anyone have any ideas on things I could check to resolve this?
