Default site unavailable - 04-01-2006 , 06:09 AM

can someone help please? I have uploaded my site, I believe successfully
with dreamweaver, the properties say all has gone OK. When I then try to see
it, directory listing denied appears in Opera and firefox, HTTP error 403
forbidden internet explorer with avant and similar with I E.I suppose its
something I've done wrong.

Two possibilities spring to mind. Your account is very new and it usually
takes 24-48 hours to activate.
Second possibility you have uploaded index.html and the default is
index.htm - in which case delete theirs and upload yours (or something very
similar).
If neither, or for clarification, post back.

Give your homepage a name of index.html and see what happens.

If you open index.htm from the remote server, is it your page?

Then you've put it in the wrong place:

http://www.eatingout.uk.com/index.htm

gets a Page Not Found error. So it's not in the root of the site.

Can you give us some details about the folder structure on the remote
site? What do you see when you connect?

if I open it in the dreamweaver program, files remote view its the right
page. Is this what you mean.
One other thing when I made this website I called it many things as I was
keeping originals and putting altered files in another site with different
names, the site I uploaded was correct but does it need to have the same
name as the domain name ie mikes site is the domain name and I upload mikes1
to the server will it not relate

I see the same in the remote view as the local view except
the top folder which says the one/c:/my docs etc in local just has a folder
icon with / in the remote. Mikey
