Overall a very nicely designed site. Background works great, logo fits in
perfectly.

The only things I noticed were the following:

-Reservations and Contact Us page are identical with the exception of the
title on the page. Is there a need for both if they are both going to be
identical?
-Things to Know link not working

Thanks, SnakEyez, yeah i need to talk to client about the those 2 pages, not
sure why he wants it set up like that...I'm going to work on fixing
that....it's kind of pointless.

Thanks for noticing 'Things to know' link - fixed that.

Hello,

Nice job with the background. I really like that.
It makes the content really float above it, if you'll forgive the pun :-)

Take care,
Tim

Very nicely done - the only thing that bugs me is the underline on the hover
of the menus ;-)
I'd remove that and maybe lighten the blue a bit more so you can see a
distinct colour swap on mouseover - otherwise good job !

Very nice looking site. I like the shadow effect on the photographs.
Nothing special, but fits very well in this case. May I ask how it is
done? Is that a special function in your image editor or done "by hand"?

Some notes:

* There's a validation error (a second 'body' element somewhere down the
page) and a CSS error (missing unit for a non-zero value):

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos... shing.com%2F
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...fishing.com%2F

* You should add a URL to the document type declaration. Without it
browsers will render the page in quirks mode. Not a problem necessarily,
but bad.

* I agree with Nadia on the menu button underlines - I don't think it's
necessary. Instead I would make the background of the buttons a little
more bright/glowing on :hover, which should be enough.

Well done.

Micha

Thanks for the comments,
I'll get that URL doc type declaration sorted out. I also agree with
comments about navigation and ditching the underlined and going with brighter
blue roll over, i'll workon that next.

The photograph effect was done with fireworks, great tutorial by
brownbatterystudios.com I was a little concerned I over used the effect, it's
fun and pretty easy, however didn't want to do overdose like when first
figuring out animated gifs back in the day! So hopefully its a good accent
withouth people screaming "Enough with the Photo effect!!!

Thanks again for all the comments!

Of course you should never overuse such effects, but it's important to
have them in your portfolio so you can use them when the time comes.

Thanks for the link. A rather simple idea (gradients and bezier curves)
for a great effect, nice. I use Paint Shop Pro, but it should be easy to
adapt. Something I have to play with ...

Nice work overall. In regards to the drop shadow effect, it's a little
inconsistent. The logo has an almost sharp edge on it's shadow. The big photo
is much more blurry. The bottom left photo has a very soft shadow, then the
photo right above it goes back to the harder edge.

Since you're trying to convey a sense of depth, i'd suggest making the shadows
all the same.

Being a graphics nerd though I guess you could consider that nitpicking ;-)
