Default Site Manager Crashing DW - 10-02-2004 , 03:57 AM

When I open the site manager it locks up DW MX 2004. I tryed the SW on another
PC on my same LAN connection and all is well. I cannot seem to get DW removed
enough from my PC. The remove app software sucks, it leaves allt of stuff out
there to prevent license fraud. Is there a way to get DW off my machine and
start over. The SW works great on other machines. PLease don't tell me I have
to completely wipe my machine...

0. What is your version of Dreamweaver? >>2004 MX

And when you right click on the DW
executable (dreamweaver.exe), then select Properties > Version, what is the
version number you see in the properties panel? >>7.0.1
1. What is your OS? >>Win2000
2. What is your AntiVirus? >>Symantek
3. Is your AntiVirus doing realtime protection? Yes
4. What is your Firewall? >>> I work at Agilent Technologies, It used to work
fine
5. What other background programs are running? >>> Not Sure
6. What Dreamweaver extensions do you have installed? >>>Course builder
7. Are you *running* DMX from a network shared drive? >>NO
8. Where are your 'local' files? Are they on a network shared drive? >>NO
9. Have you ever been able to run DMX or is this a recent failure? >>Yes
10. Does this only seem to happen with certain files/sites? >> No, as soon as
I try to edut or create a new site it locks up. Opens the start menu bar and
gives server busy message.
11. Does recreating the site cache (SITE | Recreate Site Cache) help? >>> No
in fact I have reinstalled DW and the whole nine yards.
12. Are you using *any* OS-improving utilities like "TweakUI" for example?>>No
13. Are you logging on as an ADMINISTRATOR, or do you have admin
privileges? >> Yes

So, I'm a little unclear what the current state of this machine is. Is
DMX2004 now installed?

Please exclude the Macromedia folder hierarchy from your realtime scan.

Please try disabling this.

Uhh - yes which?

This is usually associated with Firewall problems.

The trick is to *remove* everything that could be interfering from the
equation.

(You could also try renaming the Configuration folder that is here -
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX
2004

and then restarting DW.

This issue is caused by an IIS server error. Restart the IIS server using the following and everything should work..
Start>RUN>CMD>iisreset /restart press enter,,,,,,,,,,,,
